This season Kevin De Bruyne is set to win the player with most assists award in the Premier League. He ended the season with record 20 assists. Only the second player to do so in the Premier League history along with Thierry Henry. However, Bruno Fernandez, who joined Manchester United in the winter transfer played 14 games and provided seven assists. He is amongst the contenders for the most assists provider this season along with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Hakim Ziyech. However, Kevin De Bruyne is more likely to come on top ahead of Bruno, TAA, and Ziyech.
Player of the Year
According to the experts’ Premier League player predictions, last season’s best player award was grabbed by Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne. His 20 assists and 13 goals helped him win the Player of the Year award. This year, Kevin De Bruyne stands a chance to win the award again. However, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, Bruno Fernandez, Mohammad Salah are also the favorites to grab the Player of the Season award. Aubameyang is in a great form and has already started the season with a goal. Mohammad Salah, on the other hand, has also started the season with a hat-trick. Although, this season there will be a great competition for the Player of the Season award. However, I see Kevin De Bruyne winning it for the second consecutive season.
Young Player of the Year
Mason Greenwood is one of the top players to win this award in this season. However, after an impressive performance against Liverpool
last season, everyone has high hoped from him. Despite his impressive performance, he missed the rest of the season due to injury. Mason Greenwood was unstoppable after the restart of football. He scored 10 goals last season, with most of those coming after the restart. We see him as a strong contender to win the Young Player of the Season.
Top 3 Signings of the Season
- Timo Werner scored 28 goals in Bundesliga last season. Only behind Robert Lewandowski. Although everyone has high hopes from him to score many goals for Chelsea, it will be interesting to see how quickly he settles in the Premier League. After his first official game for Chelsea against Brighton and Hove Albion, he said in the post-match interview that how big the defenders were. So, if he settles quickly in the Premier League, he surely will be amongst the top scorers.
- Gabriell Magalhaes had an amazing debut for Arsenal. Not only he helped them keep a clean-sheet but he also scored a goal to help Arsenal win 3-0 against Fulham. He is also amongst the new players to watch in the Premier League this season.
- James Rodriguez became the first player to create five chances on his debut. Although he failed to score a goal or to provide assist, but his performance surely had an impact on Everton’s team as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0.
Breakthrough Player
Christian Pulisic is our Breakthrough player of the season. The American international who joined Chelsea last season hadn’t had the greatest of starts to his Premier League career. However, in the second half of the season, he shined for Chelsea, producing good performances consistently. This season might be his breakthrough year and will hope from him to continue his form from last season. He scored nine goals in the Premier League last season, most of them coming in the latter half of the season.
