One of the most devastating and thrilling setups for a wrestling battle is WarGames.
Even while the framework has been around for a while, WWE is still relatively new to it.
While in NWA, One Dream Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes came up with the idea for WarGames. The firm was later acquired by WCW, then in 2001, WCW was acquired by WWE.
In February 1991, at WrestleWar, there was the inaugural WarGames bout under WCW.
The Steiner Brothers, Brian Pillman, and The Four Horsemen vs. Sting were among them.
In WCW, 14 WarGames matches were place. In September 2000, the final match took place,
with celebrities including Jeff Jarrett, Goldberg, and Kevin Nash in attendance.

16 years after WCW was acquired by WWE, the company hosted its first WarGames match.
The Undisputed Era was declared the winner on NXT Takeover: WarGames in 2017.
The inaugural women's WarGames match took place at NXT TakeOver 2019. The winners were Tegan Nox, Dakota Kai, Rhea Ripley, and Cande LeRae.
Not until 2022, WarGames has been a mainstay in NXT since 2017. WarGames joined the official roster of Survivor Series in the 2022 season.
Both the men's and women's divisions took part in the WarGames' inaugural main roster.
For the women's division, Bianca Belair's squad prevailed, while The Bloodline—which included Sami Zayn—won for the men's.
At the moment, Adam Cole leads the WarGames WWE in both victories and appearances (2-4).
Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky were tied for the most appearances with four, but the latter earned two more victories.
