Juventus crowned Serie A champions 2019/20

Juventus are crowned champions of Serie A for a record successive ninth season. Maurizio Sarri’s team defeated Sampdoria on Sunday by a 2-0 scoreline. With goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Federico Bernardeschi. The goals coming in the either sides of the half time. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a training ground free-kick routine goal, assisted by Pjanic.

Before the lockdown Juventus led the table with 63 points and Lazio right behind them at 62 points. It was supposed to be a nail biting title race finish stretching till the final match day. Lazio were hoping for Juventus to drop points in the remaining 12 fixtures, which they did. Juventus only managing to get 20 points from possible 30 in the next 10 fixtures. Dropping 10 important points.

It was supposed to give a boost to Lazio in the hope for Serie A title. But somehow after the restart of the Serie A, Lazio lost the momentum. They dropped a massive 17 points and securing only 13 points in the 10 fixtures. In this terrible run of form losing three consecutive games against Torino, AC Milan and Lecce. Lazio dropped from a possible title winner of Serie A 2019/2020 to 4th position in the table. Equal in points with Atlanta and Inter Milan ahead in the table at second position. Later on it became a title race with Inter Milan, Atlanta and Lazio chasing Juventus to become Serie A champions. Unlike Premier League their wont be any battle for the top 4 finish in Serie A.

Golden Boot Race

With the title out of hands now Lazio will be focusing to help their forward Ciro Immobile to win the race for the Golden Boot. Ciro Immobile currently leads the race for the golden boot. After scoring a hattrick against Hellas Verona he is now on 34 goals. But chasing him is Cristiano Ronaldo with 3 goals behind him.

With only two games remaining in the Serie A this season both teams will be looking to help their respective players to win the Golden Boot award. Juventus are champions of Serie A. Lazio with a guaranteed top 4 finish, both teams will be looking to help the players win Golden Boot.

Juventus are now team with most league titles in Europe with 36 Serie A trophies. Following them are Real Madrid with 34 La Liga trophies and Bayern Munich with 30 Bundesliga trophies.
